MINI Highlights at the LA Auto Show
Drivers from Mar Vista, Culver City, and beyond flocked to the LA Auto Show this December, and among the many highlights that got a lot of buzz this year was a couple new entries from MINI, including:
- MINI Electric Concept
- MINI Cooper S E Countryman ALL4
MINI Electric Concept
The biggest introduction for MINI at the LA Auto Show this year was the MINI Electric Concept, a city-friendly all-electric car that emphasizes maneuverability around tight urban streets and a commitment to going carbon-free. It’s also a sign that MINI is developing a long-term strategy to go green, so that it remains a viable stylish urban car for many years to come.
MINI Cooper S E Countryman ALL4
Alongside the all-electric MINI Electric Concept is the MINI Cooper S E Countryman ALL4, a plug-in hybrid rendition of the family-friendly MINI Cooper Countryman. This model will run on a combination small gasoline engine and electric motor, which combine to deliver a total output of 221 hp. This engine will be able to go up to 78 mph, with power from the gasoline engine going to the front wheels and power from the electric motor going to the rear wheels. The result? An unabashed AWD vehicle that can:
- Fit the whole family
- Cruise down the highways of Los Angeles
- Save you money at the pump
- Get you around rough terrain
